Having done navy to death last year (although it is my favourite and will always have pride of place in my wardrobe), grey seems to my colour du jour. No less than my last 3 buys have been grey and with a sweep of blusher and a lick of lipstick they’re in no danger of washing me out (I hope).
I absolutely love this wool-blend cardi from H&M. It’s what we used to call at work “a useful purchase”. It keeps me warm and cosy at home when I’m just pottering, looks great with blue skinnies and boots (and the ubiquitous scarf) as well as hides the curve of my bum when I get all teenagery and pull on my teeny tiny black tube skirt. In a nutshell I love it and would highly recommend. Reduced from £24.99 to £12.00 it’s a right bargain. Honestly? It does pill a bit under the arms but I just pick the balls off or run James’ razor across the surface and they magically disappear! I have an XS just to give you an idea of sizing.
This cropped ribbed jumper from no other than M&S looks great on a cold day as well as keeps the wind at bay. Again I normally wear it with jeans, dark navy or black look great and my over the knee boots (flat ones, I’m not one for trying to channel Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman). It’s utterly bargainous as well and reduced from a whopping £39.50 to just £19.00. I beseech you to try this, it really has become my easy go-to on an almost daily basis. Size-wise, M&S errs on the larger side so I have an 8 and it’s plenty boxy and roomy still.
The allure of grey is definitely overcome-able and this shirt from H&M is super cool. It’s soft, pretty baggy so size down (I have an 8 but reckon a 4 would have been fine if they sold it; like I said, it’s baggy, I’m not emaciated) and the blue and red is cool. Wear it with a half tuck (although the other day James earnestly pointed out that I’d only tucked in half of the front – yep, that’s the point my darling) and the sleeves J Crew’d up and you’ve got a good look going on. Especially as it’s only £10.00 now, reduced from £19.99. I’d buy two if I was you.
