I took a trip to the shops yesterday as Emmie was well overdue new tights and tops and had to walk away more or less empty handed with my credit card burning a hole in my pocket. It so desperately longed to be caressed through the card machine but I had to be strong and say no.
When I’m with the children I have to pick one shop only, otherwise I’m massively pushing my luck and more importantly their patience. It was H&M’s turn on this trip and the amount of Spring Stripes in stock was immense. I have approximately 1,314 Breton striped tops in my wardrobe so could not justify adding to my collection although I was so tempted. There are some serious beauties to be had. Instead I bought this and it’s pretty awesome and 100% pure wool so an absolute steal at £12.99. It’s beautiful and so soft. This one will not be deployed to wipe a snotty nose I can assure you.
This fine knit oversized jumper is perfect for over skinny jeans or faux leather trousers. It’s slightly longer at the back as well. £12.99.
I loved this light weight cropped top (not that cropped, just kind of belly button length. I wear vests (UK)/tank tops (US) under everything which would make it much more appropriate for a mid thirty something. No post baby belly hanging out here. £7.99.
I quite liked this one in the blue striped colourway but I’m not convinced about the white striped one. It kind of looks like a strapless top when the top panel is white. Weird. I do like the gold button detail on the shoulder and wrists. It makes it look slightly more expensive than the £12.99 price tag.
I’m kicking myself that I didn’t slip this in with my purchases so I’ll be going back again soon. I think it’s brilliant for the first warm spring days that have to be on their way. It’s part of the Conscious collection so the blend uses organic cotton. £7.99.
I’ve got absolutely no need for this skirt but it is rather special. Someone really should buy it. £39.99.
This looks really nice on (I know because I stripped in the shop and tried it). It’s 100% cotton as well which is always a bonus.
I hope that I’ve saved you some shopping time this fine Saturday morning. Enjoy the stripes over your weekend coffee. One piece of advice though; in my experience delivery times after internet ordering from H&M leave a bit to be desired. Plus, the sizing is completely random. Sometimes I’m an XS, other times a 14. Your best bet is to visit your local branch.
