Step into Spring – my new season shoe wish list

Our Mum came over to visit earlier this week. For me, not only did that mean that my windows got a good clean (no more baby fingerprints up to knee height!), but I was more importantly able to peruse the local shops whilst she kept the children entertained and occupied. It was such a treat!

There’s definitely a theme this Spring. Although the 70s are everywhere, unfortunately so are the 90s. I lived that one fairly heavily and without irony the first time round, so heavy-soled shoes and crop tops just don’t do it for me 20 years later. I’ve yet to see a floppy velvet hat or a babydoll dress but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.

I was on a footwear mission and surprisingly I found loads that I liked. Here are my top picks:

Step into Spring Flats

New Look Glitter Ballet Pumps. Mint is definitely on trend this season and a bit of sparkle always puts a smile on my face.

ASOS Lark Laser Cut Slipper Ballets. Laser cut is also everywhere at the moment and these are fresh and Spring-like

Next Skaters. I love the metallic look!

George Boat Shoes. A modern take on the old original. These look really comfy!

Step into Spring Trainer

New Balance U420 . I had a navy and turquoise pair last Spring and think black will be a good addition to my wardrobe this year.

Stan Smiths Newly revived by Adidas, white leather Stan Smiths. A total classic.

Textured white pleather Skaters from H&M. I really liked these in the shop and for the price I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t last all that long.

Step into Spring Loafer

And finally these M&S Low Heel Fringed Wedge Loafers. They come in 5 colourways; mink, silver, yellow, navy and pale blue. I’m actually quite struck with the yellow; I think it looks really smart with dark blue jeans although the pale blue gets my vote too!

I naturally and obviously need all of these even though we are still in the depths of cold, snowy, rainy winter here in central Europe. I’ve got a few more weeks of boot wearing to make my final decision but knowing my luck, by the time I go to buy them they’ll be out of stock. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet now!
