Last year I had enough self awareness and introspection to realise that New Year’s resolutions aren’t really my strength nor forte. I made one though. It was a tiny one in the grand scheme of personal changes but I did it and I kept it for the entire year.
I pledged here to look after my feet and eradicate the dead skin using just a Ped Egg and heavy foot cream. My two feet are starting 2016 in a far better state than they left 2014!
This year, as 2015 is swiftly slipping through my fingers, I’ve been thinking about the improvements I want to make in my life during the year ahead.
- I met with a very wise friend this week who told me about the book The Values Factor: The Secret to Creating an Inspired and Fulfilling Life by Dr. John F. Demartini. I’m planning to a) actually read it and b) to use it to work out what my value hierarchy is and how to use it to my personal and professional advantage
- Finish my Post Partum Doula certification. I started at full throttle this year but self study, with no deadlines does not get the best out of me. With James away, the practical element has been nigh on impossible to get done, but I’m putting the building blocks in place to get going on that as soon as he returns
- Maintain my fitness and running by taking part in at least two more half marathons. With my current PR of 2 hours 1 minute, I’d really like to come in sub 2 hours. Which shouldn’t be too hard. Especially if I can find a local flat race. And add in a bit more strength training with some pilates and yoga
And finally, keep my feet in the smooth and soft manner to which they have become accustomed this year!
